MIA

I know, I know... we have been totally MIA. And, I'll just start with, no, no pictures today. I am currently freezing my butt off in the library so I can effectively communicate with all of you blog-watchers out there (so I may be talking to myself.. no matter). Anyways, Update #1: we moved out of Grandma's basement, and into a cozy little apartment. (no Internet currently)Update #2: We have been out of town A LOT lately, and are glad to be home a little now. Update #3 I met Noah Mavy. For real, in the flesh. Ahh... to live in CA. Update #4: I love Christan, A LOT. guess that's not an update...
We have pictures to document all of these updates, and pictures of The Nephew horseback at a rodeo, and all of them need to get on the blog. I am aware, and am formulating a plan. For now, just love us and our simple, Internet-free lives. :)

My Happy Place

Reason 49538736 I married the right man...

Yesterday, Christian sheepishly looks at me and says, "Lisa, tonight I am wanting to lay down and watch some Gilmore Girls." For real.

(I will throw in that earlier in the day, he changed the headlight in the car. Which I find very manly.)

Springtime

What would a post be on our blog without a few pictures of The Nephew? Christian and I had SO MUCH FUN watching Michael while his mom and dad went to a dance. I got him all dressed up in the outfit I got him for Easter, let him play with all of the fun toys we put in his easter basket, fed him lots of chocolate from his easter candy... and had pizza for dinner!! I mean, really? What kind of aunt would I be if I didn't spoil him rotten?? (I guess we will see if we are allowed to babysit after this is posted :) Here he is. I can't believe how big he is!! (Here is also a great picture of the shoes Grandma got for him)

I was noticing that he kind of looks like he is in pain in this picture. I will pretend like I did not notice that.

They love each other.

The get along really well. Probably because they are about the same level. Love you, honey!!

Oh, then there is us. The real creaters of this blog, making a rare highlight. Yay for spring, by the way! We have been taking advantage of the sunshiney weather, with lots of bike rides, picnics, walks, and fun drives with the windows down and the music up. :)

So this blog...

Is supposed to be all about "us", and what is new with "us". Well, finally, something to update. For a visual reference for this post, please refer to the previous post, dedicated to my dear friend, Kimi. Guess what??? SHE HAD HER BABY TODAY!!!! (As a side note, I only had one exclamation mark after that previous comment, and realised that it deserved AT LEAST 4.) Anyways, she had her son 4 weeks early, guess that little man had places to be! I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this little blessing is, and how excited I have been to meet him. I will have to wait another few weeks, seeing as I was just out there a week ago. Although, it was all I could do to NOT jump in the car today, and start the drive to CA to introduce myself to him. As an update, no name yet. Are you kidding, they didn't even have a car seat, much less a name! :) We love baby X, and can't wait to welcome him to this crazy world! Congrats to the new Mom and Dad! :)

Sunshine, Love, and Laughter

I was able to spend this past weekend in California, staying with my family, and spending lots of time with my very pregnant, very best friend. I had been having a really rough week, and the break was just what I needed. The second we got in the car on Friday, the windows were down, the sunglasses are on, music is turned up. Just like the good ol' days.

First we went and got pedicures. YAY! Then we went to In and Out. Something about going there with Kimi in the summer time just feels right. We had a blast. We spent the day shopping, eating, laughing, catching up. Goood times...

Kimi had her shower. Very fun. She scored big time. And, can I just say, I love that belly. Everytime I saw her, I couldn't believe it. Kimi has been with me through so many tough times, and even more good times, I am so happy for her. She will be the best mom ever, and will love this little boy more than anyone can imagine. If only she would get a car seat...

Can I just say that this picture is so US?! I adore her, adore her husband, and ADORE her baby.

I also got to spend all day on Saturday having some major gir time with my mom. We went and saw Confessions of a Shopaholic, then, as fitting as it is, we went SHOPPING! We tried to find a cute pair of well fitting jeans for me, but left empty handed. Well, other than a great pair of shoes for The Nephew. Good thing she is coming to utah in April! :)

I had such a nice time in CA, reality was harsh. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your weekend, everyone. I will come again soon!! :)

Third time's the... charm?

What the heck?? I am now sick for the THIRD time this winter. And its not just a little sick, I have a COLD!! I know, I know, I'm a baby. But I really feel like I was run over by a truck or something. I had the most wonderful weekend (went home to CA for a little R&R with Kimi and my family... just what the Dr. ordered), but then I come home and get sick! So here I sit, at my fun little desk, with a box of Kleenex, Sprite, and counting down the minutes till I get to go home and crash. Maybe Christian will even make me a little soup? That would be nice.

As for pictures of above mentioned trip, they are coming. Since they are on my camera, I can post whatever ones I want (watch out, Kimi), and I plan on doing that. For now, its back to work for me. Send me plenty of healthy vibes from blog-land!

You mean it got above freezing?!

Well, it actually hit 40 degrees on Sunday! (At least I think it did. It Might have only been 38, but either way its above freezing) Anyways, we had to take advantage, so after church, we went for a nice, fun little bike ride! Other than my hands turning purple with cold, it was sooo fun! There is nothing more recharging for me than to spend some quality time in the sun, with the one I love. Why exactly do I live in Logan again? I am SO a sunshine girl! BRING ON SUMMER!

Please disregard any snow you see on the ground. I try to.

Apparently, I can't take a normal picture. Nice.

Thank goodness for Christian.

The Nephew

Here are some cute pictures of all of our recent pics to see my brother, his lovely wife, and their perfect son. Oh, to live in Provo....

We MIGHT be related.

Yep. Babies really CAN be that cute.

They love eachother.

Catch up

This is my sorry attempt to catch up our past few months up here in Logan.
We went to the local rock climbing gym with some friends. I am terrified of heights. That said, please enjoy...

When I am carefully grounded on the floor.

Proof

Oh, he was there too. :)

Michael's 1st Birthday, etc.

Okay, so the pictures were supposed to be after the writting, but I can't figure out how to copy and paste it. Well, or I don't have the time or patience to figure it out. So, enjoy as it is.

We were able to spend the weekend in Provo with my brother Eric and his family.

When we got there on Friday evening, we put Michael to bed, and hung out for a bit before going to bed ourselves. Hannah was working Friday night, so we (Christian) got to wake up at 2 am to feed the little man and put him back to bed. I was so surprised how execited Christin was to get Michael and feed him in the middle of the night! Lets hope he keeps it up when we have kids one day!
On Saturday, Christian, Michael and I had SUCH a fun lazy morning while we gave Hannah a little nap. I LOVE lazy mornings! It was a little piece of heaven, just having Michael on the bed with us, just playing. Hannah and I went out on Saturday afternoon, and went to see New in Town, and do a little birthday shopping for Michael. The movie was super fun, very cute. Plus, I loved being able to shop at Target, we don't have one in Logan.

I think one of the highlights of the trip was coming home on Saturday, and seeing Michael playin with Chistian. Thoe two boys were having so much fun playing with eachother, I almost felt like I was barging in on private play time!
Sunday was church, dinner, and the PARTY! Michael was cute as ever, enjoying the cake, presents, and attention.

Story Time

Once upon a time, there was a girl. Woman/girl. Newly married, with a wonderful husband, and a wonderful family. This girl/woman had 3 manly brothers. One was older than her. This manly older brother was married to one of the nicest, most genuinely kind people she had ever met. He was really lucky. One day, this manly older brother told this girl/woman that he and the wonderfully beautiful wife were expecting a BABY! The girl/woman was really excited. In a pretty, "yeah,i'm excited, but I don't really know whats coming, and, lets face it, I'm selfish and am pretty wrapped up in myself" kind-of way. THEN, March 5, 2008 rolls around. Michael James Schott is introduced to the selfish, girl/woman. And she was forever changed. Never had she loved a little baby in such a complete way. She can't even imagine the kind of love she will have for her own child (ren) one day. Key words ONE DAY. Until that time, she loves her nephew. The most forgiving, loving, unselfishly caring baby boy in the world. And this girl/woman sits down, one year later, to thumb through all million pictures of Michael, and take a wonderful trip down memory lane. One day, she knows that he will follow his parents, move across the country, grow up far far away from his aunt, and she will hope and pray she can send enough love-vibes to reach him.

Happy 1st Birthday, Michael. I love you with all of my heart. Thanks for being my friend. :)

My Valentine

We had the best weekend ever! We were able to head down to SLC, and enjoy a little R&R with Christian's family, with a fun little excursion to Provo to visit my brother and his fam. Unfortunately, we missed some great photo ops with Christian's family. My awesome sister in law never misses a good picture, so for your viewing pleasure, here we are! WARNING: cutest baby ever.

This is your typical provo scene. Christian asleep, me clobbering Michael with as much love and attention as I can. :)

Blessed

Do you ever have those days where you feel like life is too good to you? I seldom do. I can admit that I often catch myself being a little too pessimistic. I focus on how great things will be ONE DAY, once my hardworking, studious husband graduates, once we move to a warmer climate, once summer comes, once I get the hang of work, once my Dad retires, etc. Today, is a switch up. I CANNOT contain my excitement for MY LIFE as it is TODAY! Yes, today is one of the coldest days so far this winter. Despite that, I feel so blessed!

I have made quite a big purchase today (I know that money cannot buy happiness on a regular basis, but for me today, it did). I bought two plane tickets to a warmer climate. I will spend 3 days surrounded by goodness and love. I am going to spend a weekend in CALIFORNIA with my very best friend in the whole world (who is pregnant, and the prego pictures she sent me actually made me cry. I love her, I love her husband, and I love the baby. Oh, and they just made a blog. YAY!)

There she is. What a beauty. Please note the sarcastic smirk. That picture did not come easily. Also, she would like for me to mention that she has not done her hair in this picture. Even though I think she looks great as is. But I have come to know that my opinion is not always valued as much as I would like to think with her.

Reason number two that I have the most wonderful life as of today. Christian has surprised me with a new phone. I cannot wait for it to get here. I have been lusting after this phone for YEARS. Seriously. It was a totally vain, unnecessary purchase that I would not ever allow myself to make. In swoops Christian. I cant wait for it to get here.

#3 My nephew turns 1 in a month. ANOTHER excuse to go see him! I can't wait. He really is one of my very best friends. :)

I know, I am blessed with the life I have for so many other reasons. Christian, food, friends, good job, family, clothes, car, etc. The list goes on and on. But today, I am selfish, and am only counting the things that are momentary, not lasting. So sue me. Life is great.

The Aftermath of a Wild Weekend

Here I sit, on MLK Jr. day, enjoying a little late afternoon (whoops, evening) TV, spending qualty time with the most wonderful, loving, errand-running husband. I'd like to say that this spontanious quality time was intentional, but no such luck. Let me start at the beginning...

Friday evening, Christian and I headed down to Provo, to go spend the weekend with my brother, sister in law, NEPHEW, and MOM! It was such a fun weekend. I love to see my mom and nephew together. They are just so happy. We have a few pictures, but they are on my SIL's camera. I will wait for her to upload them onto her blog, and I will snatch them from there. Anyways, it was the perfect weekend. I was so ready for a weekend of complete selfishness and family.

Sunday night rolls around, and we head back up to Logan. I start to feel yucky, but assume that it is just something trying to digest. Once I got home, it was followed by hours of throwing up, enjoying all of the symptoms of the flu. Yuck. I seem to get it every year. Last year, I got it twice!! Lets hope I dont this year. Christian has been stellar. Enjoying a marathon of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Gilmore Girls, and Live with Regis and Kelly, with random interruptions with him running to the store. I have had a steady flow of Ginger Ale, saltine crackers, heated blankets, and anything else I may hint to.

I think I am on the mend, lets hope so at least, I need to go to work tomorrow. Although, would one more day of spontanious quality time with my hubby REALLY be that bad??

Have you heard my husband's morning show? "Wake Up With Flem?"

I think one-year wedding anniversary's are funny. Well, at least for me it is. And I don't mean that in a bad way, its not in my nature to intentionally be mean. All I'm trying to say is that one-year anniversary's are funny! Can't I just leave it at that without all you people judging me?! SHEESH!

Our one-year anniversary happended to be yesterday, the 5th of January. Which was also the day I started the spring semester. So besides starting new classes, it was a pretty uneventful day. But little did Lisa know that I had made dinner for the two of us...which actually was not that thrilling, accept for the idea I had to put orange fruit wedges in the chicken. I thought it was pretty clever.

We actually celebrated our anniversary over the weekend. We had been given a one-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Layton, so thats where we went to party...in Layton. It was actually pretty fun despite all the ice and snow. When you are with your best friend in the whole wide world, it doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing, it is always great. Especially when your best friend slips on the ice and falls on her butt. That is ALWAYS great! Actually, I felt really bad and escorted her across icy parking lots the rest of the weekend.

I can't tell you how Lisa feels about me after one year of marriage. Frankly, I'm surprised she hasn't decided to go back to her maiden name. Especially since it takes her 5 minutes to actually write her name now! Lisa Niederhwdndweeljkiiii%^>djnf7er. How the heck do you even say that?!

However, I CAN, in a way, tell you how I feel about Lisa and I feel about us together. Not everyone gets to experience what I experience each day. Unless you also have a heated mattress pad, then you know how tough mornings are in the winter. But its not just about the heated mattress pad and sleeping in later than we planned. Its also about the other things we do together. And I think that's my favorite part about Lisa, its that she is someone I can't imagine doing something without. Of course you won't see Lisa in a white water kayak right next to me, or bombing down the porcupine rim trail in Moab. The things I can't imagine doing without her are the small things like banging my knee on something. If I were to bang my knee on a desk without her, it would just be painful. But if she was there to see me bang my knee on the desk, then it becomes Comedy Central and another hour of conversation.

We had our wedding cake last night after dinner. It would of been just dry cake if Lisa wasn't there to laugh and talk with me. She may wonder sometimes what it actually is that makes me love her. I can't say or write descriptive words that will tell it all. All I can tell her is how great it was for her to be there when I banged my knee. All I can write to her is about that time we played in the first fallen snow in October. Its those things I think about when she asks me, "Why do you love me?" And to me, that's everything.

!!!Happy Anniversary to US!!!
